AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 6 Iulie 2009
Romania's Prime Minister Emil Boc, on Friday was visiting Agrofam Holding, farming company, which Stefan Poienaru, one of the biggest landowner of the counties of Ialomita and Calarasi possesses in the Balta Brailei area (southern Romania).
PM Boc said he visited the farms because several draft laws on agriculture are currently drawn up, and he was interested in any opinion by those who deal with or are related to such normative acts.
' At the joint proposal of the agriculture minister and the finance minister, the Government will adopt during its Wednesday sitting, a normative act to support the grains producers lest they become an easy prey for the go-betweens and be taken their money, after such a hard work, for so many months,' PM Boc said.
According to him the ‘First Silo' prograamme, specially prepared to help the farmers, will be alike the ‘First Home' one, and the banks showed interest in the programme.
'The agriculture and the finance ministers agreed to supply 10 million euros to practically guarantee the acquisition of the grains and assure the farmers, they get the correct price for their production and work,' PM Boc said.
Romania's Prime Minister also referred to the fiscal evasion that he described as ‘a problem in this country,' including for the bread and bakery products and grains
PM Boc said he was very pleased with what he could see during his visit to Agrofam Holding.
'We are given the opportunity to prove that there are farming companies in Romania that although they were not talked about on TV, they have been tilling the Baragan fields for 30 years and even during this crisis time they have succeeded achieving marvelous things (...). What we have seen here today is indeed an evidence that great achievements are possible through very much work, initiative and the use of legal means,' PM Boc concluded.
