NewsIn - 14 Iulie 2009
Insurance company EuroIns Romania subscribed premiums of more than 1.9 million lei on the agriculture sector in the first six months, up 46 percent over the same period in the previous, according to one of the company's directors, Anghel Burghila.
The insurer witnessed premiums of 1.3 million lei in the first half last year.
The healthy results in the first semester were recorded owing to a higher number of policies inked and a better quality, the official said.
Burghila also mentioned the expansion of the Romanian agriculture insurance market depends on the way farmers are financially supported by the state.
EuroIns posted business of 152.8 million lei last year, up 63 percent on the previous, according to preliminary results published in May.
The company plans to focus on agriculture and health insurance policies this year and to set up a franchise network.
The turnover targeted in 2009 stands over 53 million euros.
