Economy Minister Adriean Videanu endorses zero tax on reinvested profit

Economy Minister Adriean Videanu said in Galati (east), on Friday that he endorsed zero tax on the reinvested profit.

'I'll support the zero tax on the reinvested profit to become operational, because we can really quantify this taxation as an incentive to the economy. Romania achieved economic growth under the circumstances that the direct foreign investments represented the important pillar, because they brought both cash flow and technology. If we have an appropriate fiscal environment, we will attract the investments we need. I hope the Finance Ministry will do a correct analysis and will succeed in the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund that the zero tax on the reinvested profit should become effective starting on Jan 1, 2010,' Videanu said

Minister Videanu, met the trade unionists and the administration of the ArcelorMittal Galati iron and steel works, on Friday, to find solutions to re-launch the potential orders of the Galati-based steel maker.
