‘First House’ changes - newly built apartments will be included
Nine o'Clock - 22 Iulie 2009
The changes to the "First house" program agreed in yesterday's discussion between Premier Emil Boc and bank officials will be presented to ministers and approved in the Cabinet meeting.
"Following talks, solutions were found to the technical problems raised by the representatives of banks, and they will be presented to Cabinet members in Wednesday's Government meeting, when we'll also pass the needed acts so that all 19 interested banks can conduct crediting activities in the First House Program," the Government writes in a press release. The text of the convention that guarantees the credits taken in view of purchasing a dwelling under the First House program will be modified tomorrow by adding a provision that will allow the inclusion of the apartments that are newly built on bank credit and are already mortgaged. Raiffeisen Bank will give credits through the First House program as of the end of next week, after the banks will sign a new convention with the Guaranteeing Fund, and Intesa Sanpaolo Bank is presently in the stage of adapting its internal regulations for the new crediting product. In the meanwhile, ING Bank Romania announced it will step aside from this program, but the bank will launch a similar offer for annuity mortgage with a EUR 80.000 value, according to Albert Roggemans, CEO Retail Banking, ING Bank Romania. The explanation: the procedure presumes additional costs for creditors.
