ING Bank gives up Romania's first house buying program and launches a similar loan product

Lender ING Bank Romania will not participate to the first house buying program "Prima Casa" and will launch a similar crediting product, with comparable interests, declared Albert Roggemans, the bank's retail director.
Banks granting mortgage loans through the "First House" program can apply a margin of maximum 4 percent per year over the EURIBOR interest rate at 3 months for credits in euros and a margin of 2.5 percent the most over the ROBOR rate at 3 months for credits in lei.
Some 20 banks handed in offers to participate at the program. These were BCR, BRD-SocGen, Raiffeisen Bank, CEC Bank, Alpha Bank, Volksbank, Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, Banca Romaneasca, Piraeus Bank, Bank Leumi, ATEbank, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, Credit Europe Bank, OTP Bank, Unicredit Tiriac Bank, ING Bank, Emporiki, Millennium Bank and Garanti Bank.
Loans granted through the program must not amount to more than 1 billion euros.
The Prime Minister Emil Boc met today the officials of the banks that did not sign the agreement with the national guaranteeing fund for small and medium-sized companied (FNGCIMM) to discuss a series of stipulations of the initial law bill.
