Revenues to consolidated budget dropped by 5.1 pc

The revenues to the general consolidated budget dropped by 5.1 per cent in the first half of the year, compared to the same time period of 2008, from RON 81.39 bln. to RON 77.27 bln., with expenditures advancing by 5.6 per cent, from RON 86.79 bln. to RON 91.65 bln., based on the data from Ministry of Public Finances, Mediafax informs.
Fiscal revenues amounted to RON 43.84 bln., down by 5.1 per cent as against RON 46.19 bln. in the first half of last year. The proceeds from profit tax amounted to RON 6 bln., which stands for a decrease by 8 per cent compared to RON 6.5 bln. collected to the budget in the first half of the previous year.
The proceeds collected from taxes on salaries and on incomes advanced by 8.2 per cent from RON 8.7 bln. to RON 9.4 bln. The data from Ministry of Finances indicate lower revenues by 15.7 per cent from VAT, amounting to RON 17 bln., and an advance by 10.7 per cent in case of excise duties, from RON 6.2 bln. to RON 6.9 bln. Regarding expenditures, the highest advance, by 55 per cent, was registered for the payment of interests, where proceeds advanced from RON 1.9 bln. to RON 3 bln.
Social assistance expenditures were by 22.3 per cent higher, amounting to RON 31.1 bln., and the capital expenditures dropped by 16.3 per cent to RON 7.97 bln.
