Survey: Romanians happier though their lives are tougher

Romanians are happier though their perception of their own lives and how things are going in the country is worse, reads a survey of the International Brand Consultants (IBC).
64% of respondents have said they are very happy and happy enough, while only 32% have said they are unhappy or rather unhappy. Also, according to the IBC survey conducted in July 2009, 46% of Romanians say they are very satisfied and quite satisfied with the way they live while the same answer was given by only 37% in October 2007 and by 32% in October 2006.
Though happier than in previous years, 37 of those interviewed have said their lives are worse than a year before while only 19% see it as better or much better. In October 2007 only 22% said their lives were worse than before. Also, 74% of Romanians say things in Romanian are going in the wrong direction , while only 50% in October 2007 and 47% in October 2006 believed that.
According to IBC, 45% of Romanians are optimistic about the future, 38% are reserved about it while 13% are pessimistic.The IBC survey was conducted over July 13-14, 2009 on 1,576 people and has an error margin of 2.5%.
