250 rooms from RIN Grand Hotel to become office spaces

The crisis changes the destination of the hotels. Thus, Negoita brothers will turn 250 rooms from the hotel with a capacity of almost 1,500 rooms, Grand Rin from Bucharest, into office spaces, the decision being made on the background of the decrease of the occupation degree of the hotel, Mediafax informs.

"We shall turn 250 rooms from Grand Rin hotel into office spaces and we shall partition them subject to the wishes of the clients. Even so, with 1,220 rooms that remain functional, the hotel remains the biggest in Europe," declared Ionut Negoita, owner of Pro Confort group, with investments in tourism and real estate industry. He explained the decision through the fact that, on the background of the economic crisis, the occupation degree of the hotel has decreased, and the accommodation spaces which remained free can be used as offices.

"Moreover, in the moment when we turn those rooms into office spaces, the firms which will be relocated therein can generate revenues in the catering sector, may organize trainings in the hotel and can even request accommodation services for employees or partner firms," the businessman said. The investment for the re-partitioning and rehabilitation of the office spaces will be around EUR 100 per sq m. "The rent that we shall request will be between 7 and 9 Euro per sq m, subject to the rented surface," Negoita added. According to him they are already carrying discussions with several real estate agencies to find companies willing to rent the future office spaces.
