Romania's core bourse BSE slumps 3% after the first transactions, following drop on external markets

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) lost more than 3 percent on all indexes in the first half an hour, after the U.S. markets and the European bourses closed in the red the previous week.
The BET index reflecting the evolution of the ten best companies on the market fell 3.07 percent to 4,051.85 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares without financial companies plummeted 3.01 percent to 2,441.46.
The BET-FI index of the five financial companies known as SIF lowered 3.47 percent to 20,592.73 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna plunged 3.30 percent to 8,462.69.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies dipped 3.13 percent to 394.24 and the BET-NG index showing the evolution of the power market went down 2.47 percent to 540.72.
American bourses closed the previous week with significant losses. The Dow Jones index slipped 0.82 percent to 9,321.40 and Standard&Poor's 500 index dropped 0.85 percent to 1,004.09. The Nasdaq composite index decreased 1.19 percent to 1,985.52.
Shares of financial company SIF Oltenia (SIF5) were the most traded on the market following deals of 1.55 million lei and depreciated 3.48 percent to 1.11 lei. SIF Moldova (SIF2) fell 3.63 percent to 0.93 lei.
Romania's second bank by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) plunged 4.24 percent to 11.30 lei and Austrian lender Erste Bank (EBS) lowered 4.06 percent to 113.50 lei.
Broker Cluj (BRK) reduced 6.76 percent to 0.207 lei and top oil company Petrom (SNP) cheapened 3.36 percent to 0.259 lei.
