Romania's central bank gets lei 1.7bn from banks until September 14, at an 8.5% annual interest

Romania's Central Bank (BNR) collected 1.7 billion lei from seven lenders today, the securities issued maturing on September 14, with a yearly interest of 8.5 percent, similar to the monetary policy rate, a dealer told NewsIn.
BNR's repo operation on September 7, through which the central bank injected 8.381 billion lei on the market, will also mature on September 14.
Interbank interest for overnight deposits lowered below 8.50 percent a year in the morning, but rose back near the key interest rate after the auction, the dealer also mentioned.
The last reverse repo operation completed by BNR took place on August 3, when it drew 485.6 million lei for seven days.
Romania's central lender today posted an average interbank bid rate (ROBID) of 8.19 percent a year, same as in the previous session, and an interbank offer rate for overnight deposits (ROBOR) of 8.69 percent.
