KPMG in Romania appoints new partners

KPMG in Romania is pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners with effect from 1 October 2009. According to the press release sent by the company, KPMG in Romania is continuing its tradition and philosophy of promoting local staff to the highest positions in the firm.
Ramona Jurubita, Tax Partner, Head of Indirect Taxation services. As Leader of KPMG in Romania's Indirect Taxation services, Ramona advises clients on the complex and frequently changing legislation surrounding VAT and excises. With her detailed knowledge of Romanian and international taxation, Ramona's lightning sharp brain and strong powers of persuasion are what is needed in these times of fiscal and commercial uncertainties. Aiming to be more than just a good tax adviser, Ramona knows that excellence is achieved through team work; she believes it is crucial to create the right team for each engagement, so that clients obtain the high quality service they expect from KPMG and recognise her team to be the best tax professionals in their market. Ramona has worked in taxation since 1999, when she joined KPMG in Romania directly after graduating from ASE. From 2003 to 2006, she was tax manager for a multinational company in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, where she gained practical experience in issues relating to tax planning, fiscal compliance and handling tax audits. She returned to KPMG in 2006, and has used this blend of professional and industrial experience to great effect. She is a member of the UK based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as well as of the Romanian Chamber of Fiscal Consultants.
Cezar Furtuna, Audit Partner, Having spent 10 years in KPMG's Banking and Financial audit practice, Cezar is well known and respected in both the public and private sectors of that industry. His calm and thoughtful approach is the perfect one for today's turbulent times. As someone who has risen to the top himself under strong leaders, he knows the importance of developing/ motivating his staff. Cezar aims to deploy their talents effectively to serve the client's needs. He is a strong believer in the fundamental values that may not be so common in society these days, but are crucial in the area of financial sector auditing that is his speciality. Cezar joined KPMG in Romania directly after graduating in 1998. He has built up broad experience in providing audit services to clients from a wide range of sectors, including banks, leasing companies, mortgage companies, consumer finance companies, investment funds, and brokerage companies. He has formed and led several audit teams, making sure that the experience and background of his staff closely fits the needs of the client. Cezar is a Fellow of the UK based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Romanian Chamber of Auditors.
