The meeting of the interim minister of Foreign Affairs Catalin Predoiu with his Bulgarian counterpart Rumiana Jeleva

The interim minister of foreign affairs Catalin Predoiu had on Friday 9th October a meeting with the Bulgarian minister of foreign affairs Rumiana Jeleva who was in Bucharest to take part in the General Congress of Women in PPE.
The discussions focused on the relations between Romania and Bulgaria as well as topical matters of the European agenda, the MFA press release says.
The ministers discussed about the domains where cooperation between the two states could be strengthened,such as cooperation at the Black Sea, the matter of environment, energy and transport. „ We are interested in developing joint projects in the domain of infrastructure, energy and cooperation at the Black Sea. It is important to act together within the European Union as, as neighbouring states, we have the possibility to find solutions together. We discussed about the consolidation of Bulgaria's support for the European commissioner of Romania. We expressed our firm desire that the Republic of Modova intensifies its dialogue with the institutions in Brussels and clarifies its relation with the European Union as soon as possible. It is obvious that we have progress in our efforts to enlarge the group of friends of the Republic of Moldova in the EU" the minister Catalin Predoiu said.
At the same time, there was an exchange of opinions in connection to the Cooperation and Checking mechanism, about the effects of economic and financial crisis as well as the Lisbon treaty and the future of the European construction. As regards the regional matter, the two counterparts reconfirmed their determination to take part,actively, in the stability and prosperity of the Black Sea zone and the area of Western Balkans.
