Romania's leu remains stable, near 4.29 lei/euro, although the government was dismissed

The exchange rate maintains quite stable, slightly above 4.29 lei per euro, after the announcement that the Boc government was dismissed, despite some offers on the market tried to break the 4.30 threshold.
The national currency was traded for 4.2820 lei per euro at rising bell, but fell gradually during the day and reached a minimum level of 4.30 versus the single European currency, pending votes on the no-confidence motion.
After the announcement, the exchange rate slipped to 4.29 lei per euro, and at 3:40 p.m. banks were buying an euro with 4.2852 lei and selling it for 4.2947 lei.
Boc government was dismissed earlier today after the no-confidence motion initiated by the National-Liberal Party (PNL) and the Hungarian minority party (UDMR), and sustained by the Social-Democrat Party (PSD) passed with 254 votes for and 176 against.
The reference exchange rate of the central lender BNR added 0.13 percent to 4.2897 lei per euro today, the maximum level of the past six months and a half. The euro last stood so high on March 24, when it was traded for 4.2924 lei, according to BNR.
The central bank posted an exchange rate of 4.2840 lei per euro yesterday.
