Hilton chain to affiliate third hotel in Oradea
Agerpres - 29 Octombrie 2009
Hotel chain Hilton, which has a five-star hotel in Bucharest controlled by George Copos and another one in the central Sibiu city owned by Nicolae Minea, will affiliate a third hotel in Oradea (western Romania), the Ziarul financiar daily reports on Thursday.
This is a 147-room hotel in which shareholder Financial Investment Company (SIF) Banat-Crisana has invested close to 10 million euros. The hotel, managed by Calipso Oradea company, will operate under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, which is being used by four- and five-star hotels; the facility will open in next September.
The Oradea hotel will be the first one to bring this brand to Romania.
Calipso Oradea company runs 2.2 million euros in business, according to information published on mfinante.ro.
The management contract reaffirms the international hotel chains' interest to expand in the Romanian market, in areas outside Bucharest, insufficiently developed so far, said Iuliana Craiciu, an associate lawyer at Musat&Associatii law firm, that assisted the hotel representatives in the affiliation process. She also coordinates the project team, the Ziarul financiar reports.
