Romania's central bank ups inflation prognosis for year-end from 4.3% to 4.5%
NewsIn - 6 Noiembrie 2009
Romania's central lender BNR revised upwards inflation prognosis for the end of 2009, to 4.5 percent, from 4.3 percent in the previous projection, following a higher influence of tobacco excise taxes, according to BNR's governor, Mugur Isarescu.
The last data show the annual rate of inflation lowered to 4.94 percent in September, from 4.96 percent in August, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
BNR settled an inflation target of 3.5 percent for 2009, take or leave one percentage point, so the new prognosis stands at the top of the variation threshold.
For the end of 2010, the central lender maintained inflation prognosis at 2.6 percent.
