CNP revises upward exchange rate projection for the next 5 years

The National Prognosis Commission (CNP) has revised upward its projection for the leu/euro exchange rate for the next five years, with the values to range between 0.5 and 1.1 percent.
The CNP's medium-term estimates for 2009-2014 - the autumn release - pointed to an 4.25 leu/euro average exchange rate for next year, compared with 4.20 the initial projection, 4.20 projection for 2011 (4.17 initial projection), 4.15 for 2012 (4.12 initial estimates), 4.10 for 2013 (4.07 initial projection) and 4.05 leu/euro in 2014 (4.03 initial projection).With regards to the leu/dollar exchange rate, CNP estimates an average 3.06 lei for one dollar (3.05 initial projection) for next year, 3.02 in 2011, 3.00 in 2012, 2.95 in 2013 and 2.9 in 2014. The preliminary prognosis showed a dollar to sell for 3 lei over 2011-2014.
