Romania's national currency inches to a reference level of 4.2952 lei/euro, in line with the region

The reference exchange rate settled by the central lender BNR slipped 0.02 percent to 4.2952 lei per euro, following the leu's slight increase in the first part of the session, in line with the emergent currencies in the region.
BNR yesterday posted an exchange rate of 4.2961 lei per euro.
The national currency gained ground from 4.2980 to 4.2945 versus the euro and then fell to 4.2965, while the Polish zloty climbed from 4.1750 to 4.1284 per euro and the Hungarian forint soared from 271.60 to 269.20 versus the single European currency.
For the U.S. dollar, BNR's exchange rate reduced 0.2 percent to 2.8566 lei per dollar, from 2.8623 in the previous session.
On international markets, the U.S. currency dropped from 1.4970 to 1.5044 over the euro and then swayed between 1.5030 and 1.5040 per euro.
Interbank interests for overnight deposits lowered to 7 - 8 percent a year, below the key interest rate of 8 percent a year, following excessive liquidity on the market.
