Romanian exports on the way to rebound
Agerpres - 12 Noiembrie 2009
Romanian exports increased by 18.8 percent in September compared to August, which gives us reason to be optimistic, said Secretary of State with the Ministry for SMEs, Commerce and Business Environment (MIMMCMA) Maria Parcalabescu in the opening of the meeting of CEI Ministers of Economy, an event organized during Romania's term at the CEI presidency.
In the first three quarters of the year, Romanian exports fell 18.3 percent from the same period last year, while imports fell 36 percent, but September's 18.8 pct rise from August makes us optimistic, said Maria Parcalabescu.
The MIMMCMA Secretary of State also stressed that the leading three destinations of Romanian exports are Germany, Italy and France, whereas Germany, Italy and Hungary are the major providers of Romanian imports.
The 18 CEI member countries took up 36 percent of Romanian exports.
