ACT Media - 16 Noiembrie 2009
The analysts' expectations about Romania's economy worsened by 3.5 points to 22 points in November, according to a study made by the Center for European Economic Research (ZEW).
"Even if Romania ranks before the last country- Croatia, half of respondents anticipate an improvement of the economic situation in Romania in the next 6 months. However, the present economic situation has the most prudent evaluation among the countries analysed" the study shows.
Thus, the indicator referring to the present economic situation in Romania dropped by 5.2 points to 76 points. About two thirds (62.8%) of analysts take into account a reduction of interest rates on a short term by BNR in the next 6 months, the study shows. At Central and East European level the ZEW-Erste Group Bank indicator dropped but the perception about the present economic situation remained positive. The ZEW indicator, which reflects economic expectations over 6 months for the region, dropped by 20 points but remained positive at 30.9 points. This indicator is calculated monthly by ZEW, with the support of Erste Bank group (Vienna).
