Romania's statistics body launches web portal to pick data on-line, worth lei 25.49m

The National Statistics Institute (INS) released a project for a web portal to pick the data on-line, having a total worth of 25.49 million lei, a part of the money coming from European funds, said the president of INS, Virgil Voineagu.
The financing contract was inked on August 4 between INS and the Ministry of Communication. The program implementation will last 14 months.
This project aims to improve the quality of the data provided, but also to reduce costs and to spread statistics more quickly.
As many as 17 million lei out of the total amount represent nonrefundable funds, while the rest of the money come from the public budget.
