Agerpres - 24 Noiembrie 2009
Romania is the eighth country in a classification of the most attractive destinations for the expansion of retail companies, informs daily Financiarul (financiarul.com), which mentions the fact that about a quarter of the companies dealing in international modern trade have plans to open other shops.
The above-mentioned newspaper makes it clear that Romania belongs to the same category of interest as Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium and Holland.
These are the results of a global study the real estate consultancy company BC Richard Ellis (CBRE) made of the plans retail companies have for the next year. Retailers of food products have the most numerous plans to expand their network of shops. They are followed by the ones selling clothes and electronic and home appliances, reads the newspaper mentioned before.
Of the 220 retailers that participated in the study, 200 made it clear that they aimed to open shops in 2010. Seventy-three retailers also want to open more than 10 shops next year. Moreover, 25 of these companies are confident enough in the opportunities offered by the market conditions for them to expand more aggressively. The expansion plans refer to 40 new units at least.
The entire region of Central Europe will stay attractive for international retailers, reads the CBRE study. About one half of the retail companies consider expanding in this region, also informs the above-mentioned source.
