Romanian businessmen in Iraq

The delegation includes 12 businessmen, representatives of various Romanian companies in different fields (agriculture, mining, airport building, etc.) The delegation was received by Dr. Barham Salih, the premier of the Iraqi Kurdistan area, Kameran Ahmed Abdullah the minister of constructions and housing, Anwar Jibli Shabo, the minister of communications and Hersh Muhram, the head of the Authority for Investments. With the latter, the Romanians discussed about the investment law in order to identify guaranteed means of facilitating investments in Iraq. The Romanian guests were informed that in Iraq foreign investors have the right to hold the capital of any project made in the area. The projects will be exempted from the payment of all taxes other than custom duties, for a period of 10 years since the beginning of works. The meetings will continue with the minister of industry in the Regional Government, Sinan Abdul Khali q Chalabi, to discuss possibilities to develop investment mechanisms, considering that machines and equipment for industrial projects are exempted from taxes.
