Romania's national currency sways near 4.1650 lei/euro, showing a slight uptrend

Romania's central lender BNR posted a reference exchange rate of 4.1679 lei per euro, down 0.1 percent from the previous session, the leu getting closer to the past seven and a half months peak reported two days ago, on a calm market.
BNR settled an exchange rate of 4.1721 lei per euro yesterday.
The leu waved between 4.1620 and 4.1710 per euro in the first part of the day, posting a mild upward trend.
In the region, the Polish zloty fluctuated between 4.10 and 4.1160 per euro, while the Hungarian forint advanced from 269.80 and 268.70 versus the euro, only to fell back at 269.25 afterwards.
For the U.S. dollar, the reference level added 0.19 percent to 2.9143 lei per dollar, from 2.9089 in the previous session.
On the international markets, the U.S. currency climbed from 1.4333 to 1.4297 per euro and then dropped to 1.4310 around 1:50 p.m. Romania's hour.
Overnight interests lowered to 6.75 - 7.25 percent a year and stand below the key interest rate of 7.50 percent a year.
