MFP sells government securities worth 1.3 billion RON

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) on Monday, January 1, drew more than 1.343 billion RON (some 0.312 billion euros) from the market by issuing discount government securities placed at auction by the Romanian National Bank (BNR).
The government securities hold a 6-year maturity, with the deadline on July 14, 2010, carrying an average yield of 9.24 percent. The average level of the discount rate stood at 8.83 percent.
The total value of the issue stood at 1 billion lei, with the total bid from the 13 banks having participated in the auction accounting for 3.761 RON.
There submitted buy bids 13 primary dealers - Alpha Bank Romania, BRD- Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
