Talks with IMF, EC and WB delegations focused on Pensions law and Fiscal responsibility law

Romanian authorities and representatives of the delegations of International Monetary Fund (IMF), European Commission (EC) and World Bank (WB) discussed on Saturday aspects related to the need of extending the ceiling and mechanism of governmental guarantees in order to strengthen the capacity of European funds absorption, as well as the Law on fiscal responsibility and the Law on pension system overhaul, according to a Government release.
Prime Minister Emil Boc and Minister of Public Finance Sebastian Vladescu had a meeting with IMF, EC and WB representatives for the evaluation of the agreement stage, concluded with the international bodies both in 2009 and from 2010 prospect.
Progress made on line with the main commitments in 2009 was underlined and the sides discussed part of the legislative priorities included in the agreement with international bodies, with accent on the Fiscal responsibility law and the Law on pension system reform.
PM Emil Boc and representatives of the said delegations also approached other aspects related to the need to extend the ceiling and the mechanism of governmental guarantees in view to strengthen the capacity of European funds absorption and projects co-financing, especially those of the local administrations and of the other structures managing European funds.
The round of talks with IMF, EC and WB representatives will further continue in the period to come, including at the respective ministries level.
