2.4 M euros worth project in human resources development

The product lifecycle management (PLM) implementation company in Romania - ADA - and seven institutions of higher technical education have launched a joint human resources development project, in which to invest 2.4 million euros, according to a release of the company.

The project will be co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Sectoral Operational Program Human Resources Development 2007-2013.

Entitled PLM-Adaptor, the programme will be carried out for 31 months, with completion in 2012. The main goal of it is improving work skills for 700 students who are currently crossing the period between university and an active life, through adapting their knowledge to business needs, which will easy their insertion into the labour market in the north-east, south-east, north-west and western areas.

This project will promote the partnership between the higher education units and industrial companies, by linking the system of education and vocational training with labour market's dynamics. In order to answer the best demands on the labour market, the first phase of the project will mean a both quantitative and qualitative research into the needs in industry, following the profile of the ideal employee be created to correlate training with expectations of employers.

The higher technical education institutions involved in the development and application of innovative methods of interactive learning of best practices in the industry are the University of Bacau, University 'Dunarea de Jos' din Galati - Faculty of Engineering in Braila, Constanta Maritime University, University 'Dunarea de jos' of Galati, Oradea University, University of Petrosani and the 'Stefan cel Mare' University of Suceava.

Based on the courses to be held by PLM experts in each university, the students will have the possibility to virtually simulate the concepts of digital development of products and process, as they will use them later in the company.

During the 31 months there will be held 14 local events titled 'Jobs Fair', where there will be invited both the companies and the students involved in the project PLM-Adaptor.
