National currency climbs to 4.1050 lei/euro before the end of the session

Romania's national currency, the leu, advanced gradually in the last session of the week, from 4.14 to 4.1050 lei per euro, as all the regional currencies had a similar evolution and grew significantly versus the euro.
The reference exchange rate settled by the central lender BNR lowered 0.24 percent to 4.1220 lei per euro today, from 4.1318 in the previous session.
In the region, the Polish zloty hiked from 4.08 to 4.04 versus the euro, while the Hungarian forint gained from 272.50 to 270.60 per euro and then swayed between 270.60 and 271.40.
On the international markets, the U.S. dollar soared from 1.3980 to 1.3930 per euro, as the evolution of Europe's single currency is affected by worries on the economic situation of the European countries, following Greece's budgetary difficulties.
For the U.S. currency, BNR's reference level inched 0.02 percent to 2.9509 lei per dollar, from 2.9502 in the previous session.
Overnight interests on the interbank market remain above the key interest rate of 7.50 percent a year.
