SSIF Broker SA posts 1-mln euro net profit

SSIF Broker posted some 4.04 million lei in net profit last year (1 euro is traded at 4.1 lei), nearly fivefold higher than the budgeted profit, of 852,000 lei, according to a release of SSIF Broker SA.
The turnover reported by SSIF Broker SA in 2009 dropped by 60 percent year-on-year, to 3.32 million lei.
The company's equity rose over 90.5 million lei in 2009, while the Return on Equity (ROE) reported a positive level, of 4.6 percent.
Starting with this summer, SSIF Broker will become a broker on the international capital markets, so that it should be able to offer a wide range of investments that should allow the company's clients to invest both on the Romanian capital market and on the stock exchanges in Western Europe, New York, Japan or China. Moreover, the company's management will analyze in the coming period the possibility to list the company on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, but also the listing of some companies in which it holds the majority stake on the spot market of the Sibiu Money and Commodity Exchange (Sibex).
SSIF Broker SA was set up as share company back in 1994. It developed concurrently with the capital market, being a founding member of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. In 2005 SSIF Broker became the first, and so far the only, company of financial investment services listed on the Stock Exchange, in the 1st Category.
