ACTMedia - 2 Martie 2010
Switzerland's contribution to the reduction of economic and social differences existing in the extended European Union will include, for this year, the amount of 123 million euros, destined for Romania, Switzerland's Ambassador in Bucharest Livio Hurzeler told a press conference on Monday.
The head of the Swiss mission to Romania said that non-repayable funds were to be oriented towards social security and stability, towards the support of the civil society, towards combating human trafficking and minority exclusion, as well as towards private enterprises sector, education, research, energy and environment protection.
'I want to underline that this contribution is not especially aimed at promoting Swiss investments in Romania, it represents a support granted to Romanian authorities, to Romanian projects in order to increase Romania's capacity in different sectors, in collaboration with local partners,' said Switzerland's Ambassador. The Swiss project will cover five years and the payments will be made over 10 years. Its implementation is planned for the first half of this year.
