The legislative proposal to hike the ownership limit – update

According to the latest information from the local media, the Deputies from the Budget and Finance Commission have postponed the internal debates on the proposal to hike the ownership limit in SIFs, without a clear deadline being envisaged.
It is possible that these discussions to be resumed in late April. We reminded that the Budget and Finance Commission is drafting the final version of the bill to increase the ownership limit to 5%. There are rumors that the lobbying for this proposal has weakened significantly over the past weeks. We view this piece of news as negative, since the likelihood of ownership limit increase was a key driver of the SIFs shares over the past months.
