NewsIn - 5 Martie 2010
Romania's national currency, the leu, waved slightly during the first transactions and the central lender BNR posted a reference exchange rate of 4.0923 lei per euro, the minimum level since the beginning of February, as increases on the European capital markets sustained the emergent currencies.
BNR last reported such a steep exchange rate on February 2, when the euro was traded for 4.0877 lei.
In the region, the Polish zloty soared from 3.8960 to 3.8740 versus the euro and then slipped to 3.8790, while the Hungarian forint waved close to 266.50 per euro around 1:50 p.m.
For the U.S. dollar, BNR's exchange rate grew 0.69 percent to 3.0119 lei per dollar, from 2.9914 in the previous session.
On the international markets, the dollar swayed without a clear evolution and stood at 1.3604 versus the euro at 2 p.m. Romania's time.
