Agerpres - 22 Martie 2010
The commercial success of the Dacia cars on the German market in 2009, dropped Romania's trade deficit 3 times in the car sector.
According to the data, the National Statistics Institute (INS) director Vergil Voineagu presented, during a news conference, on Monday, Romania's trade deficit with Germany decreased by 67.4 percent. In the car sector, Romania, in its foreign trade relation to Germany, switched from a deficit of 762.8 million euros, in 2008, to an excess of 306.4 million euros in 2009.
Last year Dacia was massively exporting to Germany, part in the programme of the renewal of the German car fleet, with a scrappage bonus, while the German cars imports considerably dropped, along with the dramatic drop on the imports market and the Romanian car market, at large.
The classification of the countries, which Romania registered the highest trade deficits with, significantly changed in 2009 compared to 2008, the INS official said.
Romania's trade deficit with the Russian Federation curbed by 64 percent, thanks to the 44 percent drop in the crude imports and by 63 percent to the natural gas ones.
