Dacia exports daily up to 300 SUVs Duster
Agerpres - 23 Martie 2010
Automobile Dacia started exports of the newest model assembled in Pitesti (southern Romania), SUV Duster, almost 300 units being delivered daily to dealers on the Western European markets, announced Ziarul financiar daily.
At present, the new model is delivered to the dealerships on the Western European markets, between 150 and 300 units daily. This is obvious on the exit route from Romania to Western Europe, Pitesti - Ramnicu Valcea - Sibiu - Arad, roamed even in the week-ends by a number of 10-15 trailers carrying on average eight Duster vehicles each.
'We dispatch vehicles just for export. They are dispatched in combination with some other models, between 150-300 units daily', said Dacia representatives, quoted by Ziarul financiar daily.
The company took the decision to primarily deliver the vehicle to export markets, they accounting for 85 percent of sales because from the logistical standpoint a longer period of time is needed in order to deliver the new SUV. Dacia vehicles are sold by a network of more than 1,600 Renault dealers, each having a 'Dacia corner' in their showroom.
There are already more than 100 mono-brand Dacia dealers in France and the national auto brand has own showroom even on the Cote d'azur.
Those almost 70 Dacia dealers in Romania are going to receive at least a Duster each in the days preceding the official national launch over April 15-18, the quoted daily also notes.
The newest Dacia model, launched at the beginning of the month at Geneva Auto Salon, accounts at present for almost 20 percent of the output at the plant in Mioveni (southern Romania). According to Dacia representatives, the SUV Duster daily production pace is up to 250 units.
