SIF Moldova sells more shares in BRD
Agentia Nationala de Presa - Agerpres - 1 Aprilie 2010
The SIF Moldova financial company has sold another stake in Banca pentru Reconstructie si Dezvoltare - Groupe Societe Generale (BRD-GSG).
'The stake is worse RON 1.549 million (nearly 364,588 euros),' SIF Moldova Chairman Costel Ceocea told Agerpres.
Shortly before, SIF Modova had sold shares in BRD-GSG worth RON 1.844 million (nearly 434,015 euros).
The stake sale happened as the BRD-GSG Administration Board recommended the distribution of a gross dividend that is 2.6 times smaller in 2009, just RON 0.27947 per share, and as SIF Moldova attempts a new medium-term strategy that will allow it to reduce its dependence on the two large banks in its portfolio - Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) and BRD, SIF Molodva financial analysts say.
SIF Banat-Crisana and SIF Oltenia have also sold BRD shares since early this year that, when the SIF Moldova stakes are added, total 0.12 percent of the bank's share capital.
All the transactions added up to 3 million euros. The three SIFs would together hold 14 percent of the shares in BRD.
