Investments in companies under Ministry of Economy supervision, higher by 65 pct than in 2009

Companies under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment supervision have an investment programme of 8.3 billion lei from identified sources in 2010, 65 percent higher than in 2009, announced Minister Adriean Videanu in a press conference on Wednesday.

'Companies under MECMA supervision have an investment programme of 8.3 billion lei (1 euro=4.1 lei) from identified sources in 2010. This is 65 higher than in 2009. We have identified sources for all these investments. They are own sources and attracted loans and an amount of 396 million lei is allocated from the state budget', said Videanu.

According to MECMA official, important investment fields are energy - 6.05 billion lei, oil and gas - 1.482 billion lei, mineral resources - 183 million lei, defence - 40 million lei and MECMA investments - 8 million lei.

'As for the public private partnerships, apart of Cernavoda groups 3 and 4, a second nuclear power station, the AGRI project, we have projects in value of 3 billion euros. We have two groups of Electra Co.of 500 MW, and the investment is of 1.7 billion euros. As regards Hidroenergetica we have such projects on Olt, Cornetu - 133 million euros, Somesul Mare - 754 million euros, Aries - 245 million euros, Buzau - 324 million euros, CET Bucharest South - 105 million euros, Electrocentrale Deva - 322 million euros and a new group in Paroseni - 245 million euros', Adriean Videanu noted.
