OTP Bank Romania brings the exchange rate directly on the mobile phone
OTP Bank - 22 Aprilie 2010
OTP Bank Romania expands its OTPdirekt service with a new option: „Alerta Curs BNR'. This facility is available starting with March 11, 2010, both for individual and corporate clients and sends NBR rates directly on the mobile phone, in real time.
„Alerta Curs BNR' sends the NBR rates daily (from Monday to Friday), through a SMS, after 13 o'clock, immediately after the National Bank of Romania provides the official exchange rates. Thus, clients receive on their mobile phone – on one or more mobile numbers they have previously mentioned in the contract – the exchange rates for main currencies: EUR, USD, CHF, GBO and HUF. The rates are sent during banking days only and are available for the next banking day.
„The new option brings even further freedom of movement, as the clients are permanently connected to important financial information. From now on, our clients will find it easier to plan their exchange rates, payments and any other operations that depend on the exchange rate. Thus, the facility provides plus value to OTPdirekt service - a safe, comfortable and fast way of making banking operations, which has become very popular among clients.', stated Gabriel Cretu, Manager Distribution Sales Channels and Branch Network Management Directorate, OTP Bank Romania.
OTPdirekt is the service through which OTP Bank Romania offers its client the possibility to access their banking accounts 24 hours a day, through three channels: telephone (Call Center), internet (Internet Banking) and SMS (SMS alerts). Through the SMS Alerts option, clients receive on their mobile phones real time information about movements on their accounts and cards, the sold of the accounts they have selected in the contract, as well as other data for which they give their agreement once signing the contract.
Furthermore, except for the national mobile networks in Romania (Vodafone, Orange, Cosmote and Zapp), starting with April 12, 2010, SMS Alerts is also available for numbers from any other European mobile network, both for individual and corporate clients. On a client's SMS appendix can simultaneously appear phone numbers from a Romanian phone network as well as from European networks. The client will pay differently for each sms he receives.
