Conference 'Looking forward: Romania and Europe 2020 strategy' to be held in Bucharest

The Representation of the European Commission (EC) in Romania and the Group of Applied Economics on Friday organised the conference 'Looking forward: Romania and Europe 2020 Strategy.'
Opening speeches will be delivered by President Traian Basescu, EU Commissioner for agriculture and rural development, Dacian Ciolos, and head of the the Representation of the European Commission in Romania, Niculae Idu.
During the first session of debate, entitled 'Europe 2020 Strategy: Structural reforms in Romania aimed at an intelligent economic growth, sustainable and favorable to social inclusion (public administration, economic reform, poverty reduction)', there will hold lectures Minister of Labour, Family and Social Protection, Mihai Seitan, Coordinator for Romania of the World Bank Office, Francois Rantrua, the head of the National Commission for Prognosis - Ion Ghizdeanu, the Executive Director of the Group for Applied Economics - Liviu Voinea, Director of the Romanian Centre for European Policies, Cristian Ghinea, Professor of Economics Daniel Daianu and MEP Theodor Stolojan.
During the second session, entitled 'Europe 2020 Strategy: Challenges facing the business environment in Romania in reaching a competitive and innovating economic growth', there will hold speeches Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sports, Daniel Funeriu, Secretary of State with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment Irinel Cristu, Director of the National Council of Small and medium enterprises in Romania, Ana Bontea, Vice President of the National Trade Union Confederation (Cartel ALFA), Petru Danda, the Executive Director of the Foreign Investors Council, Doina Ciomag, and the manager of the Institute of World Economics and the President of the Romanian Centre for Economic Modelling, Constantin Ciupagea.
