Market study on brands winning Romanians' trust
Agerpres - 28 Aprilie 2010
The most important market study conducted upon consumption in Europe reveals that Dacia is ranking in the Romanians' trust lead in the car category, last year occupied by Mercedes - Benz.
The study conducted by Reader's Digest for the tenth consecutive year wanted to identify and award the brands which succeeded to win Europeans' trust this year.
The 'Trusted Brands' results in Romania pointed out changes at the perception and trust levels compared to the previous years.
One of the big surprises this year was the return in force of some Romanian brands.
As for the institutions, the study revealed that Romanians' trust in some of them slumped dramatically, whereas in others it attained the highest levels in Europe.
As such, trust in Police and Justice further remains at a very low level from the European average (35 percent and, respectively, 22 percent from 59 percent and, respectively, 40 percent). In contrast, the trust in marriage is the highest in Romania, with a percentage of 79 percent from 68 percent, on average, in the 16 participating countries in Trusted Brands study.
According to professions, air pilots replaced for the first time the fire fighters - Romanians voted 90 percent in favor of the air pilots, 89 percent for the fire fighters and 84 percent for pharmacists, the three professions also climbing on the podium in 2009.
The last three spots in this classification remained the same as last year: Romanians cast a negative vote in the case of politicians (94 percent), car sellers (78 percent) and footballers (73 percent). Moreover, population's distrust in these categories was higher compare to last year.
Trusted Brands 2010 was conducted at the same time in 16 European countries, Romania included, respondents having available to select the preferred category from 20 brands common to the 16 countries and from maximum 18 local categories.
Respondents did not receive answer options, but had to nominate themselves the brands most trusted and to further evaluate them according to 'quality', 'excellent value', 'strong image' and 'grasp of the customers' needs'.
The study was conducted by post, over August - October 2009, and respondents were selected from a data base of Reader's Digest active clients from 16 European countries. In this period, 218,618 questionnaires with open questions were sent to people and the average reply rate accounted for 7 percent. Romania scored the highest reply rate at the European level, after Finland - 14.1 percent.
Among brands having won Romanians' trust are: Dacia, Dell, Nokia, Vodafone, Canon, Paralela 45, BCR, Visa, Asirom, RCS & RDS, Petrom, Eurovita, Nurofen, Algocalmin, Head & Shoulders, Nivea, Ariel, Nestle.
As for the local categories, the winning brands were Vel Pitar, Ceresit, Cris-Tim, Fuchs, Borsec, Medlife, Walmark, Danone, Carrefour etc.
