Romania’s economy contracted 0.3% in 1Q 10

According to the latest data published by The Statistics Institute, Romania's GDP has contracted 0.3% qoq, slightly ahead of the market estimate of a 0.5% qoq contraction.
Compared to the first quarter of 2009, Romania's economy decreased 2.5% yoy, again better than analysts' expectations for a 3.4% yoy drop.
