Biggest ship built since beginning of year is launched

The STX Ro Offshore Shipyard in Tulcea (south-eastern Romania) on Tuesday hosted the launch of the fourth ship completed this year, which is the biggest one built since the beginning of the year.
The underwater installations maintenance and constructions assistance ship will leave in almost two weeks for the Norwegian partner STX Norway Offshore AS Brattvaag in order to be completed and is to serve the installations in Malaysia.
'I had the pleasure to be in Norway this week, where I celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Brattvaag Shipyard, and I was asked when the ship would be ready, and my answer was that N730 was the best ship delivered by now from Tulcea. In Brattvaag, we are very pleased that this ship will be delivered,' said Jan Langenese, head of STX Norway Offshore AS Brattvaag representative office in Romania.
The ship is 157 metres long, 27 metres wide and its structure is 12 metres high, 7,800 tonnes of metal were needed to build it.
According to shipyard manager Tudorel Topa, the ship set afloat on Tuesday is the biggest ship completed this year by the unit's employees.
