INS: Unemployment to go higher than processing industry's production
Agerpres - 28 Mai 2010
The activity in the processing industry will grow by 5 percent, while the number of the sector's employees are to go down by averagely 17 percent, over May-July, 2010, informs the National Statistics Institute (INS) in a release sent to Agerpres News Agency, on Friday.
The Romanian mangers expect the processing industry's activity to increase by 5 percent, in Q2 of 2010, but the unemployment is to grow by 17 percent in the branch's very big manufacturers, numbering over 500 workers, whose peak conjectural balance reaches minus 23 percent.
At the same time, some of the activities will see a much lower decreasing trend than per total, in fields such as the iron and steel industry, transport means makers and coke and crude processors, where the conjectural balances are ranging between minus 48 - 46 and minus 43 percent, respectively.
The managers responding to the INS review expected the prices of the industrial products to grow by 6 percent, over the coming three months.
Estimates see the building field growing moderately, namely by 3 percent, in this May, whilst the unemployment is to grow by 7 percent only, in Q2 compared to the time span before. The number of employees will go down because of the situation of the small companies whose staff is beneath 50 people.
According to the INS, the prices for the building works will grow by three percent.
The retail managers expect the economic activity to drop by minus 8 percent, in May, 2010, during the three months ahead. The commodity sales will see a slight decrease of 1 percent, while the goods suppliers are expected to order by 5 percent less merchandises.
Subsequently, the employers expect the number of the employees to go 7 percent lower, in the sector, during the coming three years.
The trade companies' managers expect the retail prices to grow sensitively, namely by 27 percent.
Even the services demand will see a 5 percent drop, while the number of employees is expected to decrease by 3 percent, particularly in the big companies numbering between 25 and 499 employees, the sector's mangers told the INS.
The services' sale and invoice prices are to drop by 3 percent.
