Trade exchanges between Romania and Turkey will amount to 20 billion dollars, on a medium term, after it totalled 7.5 billion dollars in 2008, Turkey's Justice Minister and joint chairman of the Joint Economic Commission Sadullah Ergin said on Friday.
'Trade exchanges amounted to 7.5 billion dollars in 2008, but they dropped to 4.5 billion dollars in 2009 due to the downturn, but in the first four months of 2010 we registered a 59 percent growth and we aim at trade exchanges worth 20 billion dollars on a medium term because the time of great projects has come,' Ergin told a joint economic forum.
Romania's Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu, joint chairman of the Joint Economic Commission, said that Romania was waiting for Turkish investors, over 11,000 companies in this country are already operating in Romania in fields such as energy, transports as well as in projects carried out with European funds.
'Justice is important for the business environment because the celerity with which the commercial litigations are settled aims at the economic environment. You cannot have a competitive and attractive economic environment without a justice that punishes evasion and business operating by evading the law,' said Predoiu.
