Long term capital gain tax to be hiked to 16%
Raiffeisen Capital&Investment - 31 Mai 2010
According to Government sources, the tax rate for capital gains from securities transactions for holding periods longer than one year will be lifted from 1% to 16%.
Moreover, the government proposal requires brokers to initially retain a preliminary tax computed based on a tax rate of 10%, versus 1% as it is the case now, while the regularization of the fiscal liabilities/assets remains yearly. These measures if implemented will impact primarily the individuals dealing on their own account.
