Romanian currency scores lowest level of last six months

Leul, Romania's national currency depreciated, on Monday June 7, by 0.31 percent compared to euro, amounting to the lowest level over the past six months.
Romania's Central Bank (BNR) announced a reference exchange rate of 4.2180 lei for 1 euro, with 1.29 bani more, compared to Friday, when 1 euro was traded for 4.2051 lei. Such a low rate was not registered since Jan 4, 2010 when 1 euro was worth 4.2265 lei.
Likewise, the USD gained ground vs. the Romanian national currency, BNR established an exchange rate of 3.5243 lei, by 7.44 bani, namely 2.16 percent higher than 3.4499 lei, like in the last session last week.
One gram of gold sold for 137.2649 lei, by 3.8855 lei (2.91 percent) more compared to 133.3794 lei, at the last sitting, last week.
