MFP sells T-bills worth 330 mln lei

The Public Finance Ministry (MFP) on Monday drew nearly 330.84 billion lei (some 77.85 million euros - editor's note) following an issue of discount T-bills, placed on tender through the Romanian National Bank (BNR).
The T-bills carry a one-year maturity and the issue was awarded at an average yield of 6.85 percent. The weighted-average discount rate stood at 6.41 percent.
The total value of the issue stood at 1.2 billion lei, while the total demand of the 13 participating banks in the tender accounted for 1.55 billion lei.
MFP rejected banks' bids with yields higher than 6.98 percent.
Bidding offers were submitted by 13 primary dealers - Alpha Bank Romania, BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, Commercial Bank Carpatica (BCC), Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), Transilvania Bank, Bancpost, CEC Bank, Citibank Romania, ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank, RBS Bank Romania and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
