Rumors about a banking tax started to float around

According to the local media, the Government is intending to launch a banking tax. Thus, according to a junior member of the cabinet, next week the Government will meet with the Central Bank (BNR) when this matter might be discussed.
For the moment it is not clear if the tax is profit based or assets based. Therefore, it is difficult to commensurate the impact of such a tax on our covered banks and we rate this piece of news as neutral.
