Romania-China business forum at Expo 2010
Agerpres - 30 Iunie 2010
Investment opportunities and the local investment milieu of Romania in the context of 61 years of diplomatic ties was the main topic of a Romania-China business forum organsied on Tuesday at the 2010 World Exposition in Shanghai by the corporation that carried out the construction works on Romania's pavilion in the exposition.
'We want to promote Chinese investment in Romania and we also would like Romanian officials to come to Shanghai on visit or trade missions to develop mutual understanding,' the Romanian Foreign Ministry quotes Chairman of Zhongyuan Construction, the company that carried out the construction of Romania's Expo2010 pavilion, Chen Shichun as saying.
Romania's ambassador to China is quoted as having hailed the initiative of the Zhongyuan management and thanked the Chinese participants for their interest attached to the Romanian market for investments.
'Romania's participation in the World Exposition is a special opportunity for developing bilateral relations and exchanges. Romania is a member state of the European Union and, despite global changes and crises, continuing and furthering economic exchanges is a challenge to the adjustment of cooperation partnerships in various fields, including infrastructure and construction. Romania, much as China, needs to develop its roads and railroads. The World Exposition in Shanghai is displaying to the world the experience of China's construction companies, the structures and infrastructure of Shanghai. Chinese companies are welcome to enter the Romanian market, and, once Romania gets into the Schengen Arae in 2011, facilities for getting a visa will emerge for Romania, which will benefit the development of bilateral trade and cooperation,' said the ambassador. The forum continued with an introduction to the investment milieu of Romania.
Chief of Romania's Commercial and Economic Promotion Office in Shanghai Dan Simion described Romania's position in the European area, its industrial centres and parks, business opportunities, and mentioned the main countries having invested in Romania. He invited Chinese companies to become investors in Romania, describing the incentives extended by the Romanian Government to investing companies.
