ACTMedia - 20 Iulie 2010
The minister of economy, commerce and business environment Adriean Videanu stated on Friday that the new stakes the Romanian state is going to take in EnergoNuclear, the project company to make reactors 3 and 4 of the nuclear powerstation in Cernavoda, will be discussed on Wednesday in the government.
'The memorandum is already prepared. I won't tell you my decision, I can't talk above the premier. You will find out next week' Videanu said.
The former State secretary in the ministry of economy Tudor Serban said at the end of May that the decision was taken to reduce the Romanian state stake in Energo Nuclear, from 51% to 25%.
Nuclearelectrica and the six investors ArcelorMittal, CEZ, GDF-SUEZ, Enel, Iberdrola and RWE Power signed in November 2008 the Agreement of Investors for the setting up of the project company ( EnergoNuclear SA) to build, put into operation and exploit unit 3 and 4 in CNE Cernavoda.
Following the negotiations, it was decided that the division of stakes between project partners be the following : Nuclearelectrica - 51%, CEZ - 9,15%, GdF-Suez - 9,15%, Enel - 9,15%, RWE Power - 9,15%, and ArcelorMittal and Iberdrola, 6,2% each. Units 3 and 4 would be put into operation most likely in 2017.
The estimated cost for the two reactors is 4 billion euro and each unit will have installed power of 720 MW. The duration of one unit is 30 years, with possible extension.
