TotalSoft sells Primavera licenses to Saudi Arabian company
Agerpres - 22 Iulie 2010
TortalSoft, Oracle certified partner for the sale, implementation, training and consultancy in relation to the Primavera system on Wednesday told a press release it signed a contract with Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) from Saudi Arabia for the sale of this platform.
Primavera licenses installed by TotalSoft in June also represent the first sale of project management software carried out by a Romanian company in the Arabian Peninsula, which are to be used during the construction of one of the largest refineries in the world, Jubail Refinery.
According to TotalSoft, the construction requires a total investment worth 9.6 billion dollars, being the largest project in the world at present, with a high strategic importance both for Saudi Aramco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it is the biggest refinery in the Middle East.
The refinery is to be completed in 2013 and will benefit from some of the most advanced technologies worldwide, due to reach a production of 400,000 barrels per day.
The use of the Primavera project management system will provide the software platform necessary for the correct management of the human resources (30,000 workers), financial resources (materials, construction and equipment will cost nearly 5.5 billion dollars) and material resources (1 million cubic meters of cement, 4,250 units of equipment, 30,000 tons of metal structure, 100,000 tons of pipes spreading over 7,000 kilometers).
TotalSoft will continue its involvement in the project in the second half of the year as well, both by expanding the number of licenses and the technical support and by offering new solutions for project management.
The Romanian company implemented the first Primavera system in 2001 at Rompetrol with a view to carry out the inspection of the Petromedia Refinery.
Under TotalSoft supervision, Rompetrol has so far conducted two inspection processes of this refinery, over 2001 - 2005.
Moreover, Arpechim Pitesti and Petrotel Lukoil Ploiesti refineries were also inspected under TotalSoft supervision over 2006-2007 and 2004 respectively, as TotalSoft is the only software company in Romania that has the necessary skills and experience as regards the planning and follow-up of an extremely complex process, with major financial implications, such as the inspection of a refinery.
In 2010, 6 years after the first inspection conducted under TotalSoft supervision, Lukoil will carry out the largest upgrade project of a local refinery, with the specialists of the Romanian company providing project management consultancy services this time as well.
The contract sealed with SATORP Saudi Arabia marks a new market for the Primavera system developed by TotalSoft, the third one after Romania (600 clients) and Hungary (38 clients).
