Commercial exchange between Romania and Egypt were USD 222 mn in 2009

Thus, they reached in 2009 the value of 222 million USdollars, and I am sure that during the coming year, we will witness a rise once more in our trade volumes,inspite of the global crisis, which affects the economies of the two countries. « In terms of trade and commerce, it was remarkable to witness during the first half of the year a mutual interest from both the Egyptian and Romanian sides to expand the volumes and areas of bilateral cooperation and investments, and I trust that such targets would materialize in light of the signing of the new memorandum of understanding of the Egyptian Romanian Businessmen Council, in Cairo, in June 2010, between the Egyptian Businessmen Association and Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry ».On the other hand, the bilateral relations are in an ascending trend, taking into consideration the efforts exerted by both sides to hold the fifth session of the bilateral Political Consultations, which took place in Bucharest, during the month of May 2010. « I am glad to say that during last June, we had a successful outcome from the preparatory meetings of the fourth session of the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation, which was held in Cairo ».
